Done (2/3)

  • But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
  • Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: None of my words will be delayed any longer, but the word that I speak will be performed, declares the Lord God.
  • And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
  • Our God is in the heavens;
    he does all that he pleases.
  • Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.
  • Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
  • For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
  • But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
  • Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
    make known his deeds among the peoples!
  • And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
    For you will render to a man
    according to his work.
  • For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.
  • All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
  • And you will say in that day:
    “Give thanks to the Lord,
    call upon his name,
    make known his deeds among the peoples,
    proclaim that his name is exalted.”
  • This is the day that the Lord has made;
    let us rejoice and be glad in it.
  • All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
  • Even to your old age I am he,
    and to gray hairs I will carry you.
    I have made, and I will bear;
    I will carry and will save.
  • Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.
  • And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
  • You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
  • Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
  • I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
    I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
  • Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
  • As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
  • If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.

Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

Random Bible Verse

Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
