Bible Verses about 'Favour'
- For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - One who finds a wife finds happiness
and receives favor from the Lord. - The future bodes well for him
who is generous in helping those in need
and who conducts his affairs with justice. - Truly, you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you surround them with your goodwill as with a shield. - Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting,
but the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - An honorable name is more to be desired than great riches,
and high esteem is preferable to silver and gold. - For his anger lasts for only a moment,
while his goodwill endures for a lifetime.
Weeping may last throughout the night,
but at daybreak there is rejoicing. - Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.”
- Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you;
fasten them around your neck
and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will gain favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man. - It was not their own swords that won them the land,
nor did their own arms make them victorious;
rather, it was your right hand and your arm
and the light of your face,
because you loved them. - Every day, united in spirit, they would assemble together in the temple. They would break bread in their homes and share their food with joyful and generous hearts as they praised God, and they were regarded with favor by all the people. And day by day the Lord added to those who were being saved.
- The words of a wise man win favor,
but a fool’s tongue is his undoing. - Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to all those on whom his favor rests. - Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.”
- Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart
find favor in your sight,
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. - May the favor of the Lord, our God, rest upon us.
And may the work of our hands prosper—
indeed, may the work of our hands prosper.
