- This is how we can be certain
that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit. - Come forth! Let us bow down to worship him;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. - Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good for the purpose of building him up.
- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God? - Protect me, O God,
for in you I take refuge. - But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
- At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly.
- As a deer longs for running streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - But as for me, I will look to the Lord.
I place my hope in God my savior;
my God will hear me. - For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so too, through Christ, do we receive our consolation.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”
- And forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors. - Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.
- The Lord commanded us to observe all of these statutes and to fear the Lord, our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, even as we are today.
- All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
- For the love of Christ urges us forward, once we conclude that one has died for all, and therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him who for their sakes died and was raised to life.
- Therefore, we fasted and prayed to God to grant us a safe journey, and he answered our prayer.
- He replied, “What is impossible for men is possible for God.”
- Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
- God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him. - All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us. - For there is one God,
and there is one mediator between God and man,
Christ Jesus, himself a man. - Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
Let us examine and test our ways
and return to the Lord. However, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything
and remind you of all
that I have said to you. Train a child in the way he should go,
and he will not deviate from it, even in old age.Next verse! With image
