Good news (3/4)

  • Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
  • So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
  • For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
  • And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
  • And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
  • See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
  • As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
  • Learn to do good;
    seek justice,
    correct oppression;
    bring justice to the fatherless,
    plead the widow's cause.
  • But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
  • And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
  • Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
    He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
  • Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
  • Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
  • Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
    he who keeps understanding will discover good.
  • He has told you, O man, what is good;
    and what does the Lord require of you
    but to do justice, and to love kindness,
    and to walk humbly with your God?
  • But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
  • Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.
  • If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
  • For the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true.
  • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all those who practice it have a good understanding.
    His praise endures forever!
  • And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
  • Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
  • Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
  • His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
  • Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good,
    and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
