You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. | For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. |
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” | For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. |

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. | Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. |
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” | And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. |
How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. | How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. |
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. | Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. |
A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. | A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. |
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” | And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. |

A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word! | A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! |
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. | For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. |
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. | Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. |
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. | And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. |
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. | As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. | Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. |

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. | And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. | But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. |
