My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.My son, do not ignore the Lord’s discipline or refuse to accept his rebuke. For the Lord disciplines those whom he loves, just as a father chastises a beloved son.
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.Every word of God has proved to be true; he is a shield to those who trust in him.
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.But I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the end he will stand upon the dust.
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.Let the wicked abandon their ways and those who are evil their thoughts. Let them return to the Lord so that he may have mercy upon them; and to our God, for he is rich in forgiveness.
And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.God gave the midwives numerous families because they had feared God.
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end.

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, where he was tempted by the devil. During that time he ate nothing, and at the end of it he was famished.
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.In the netherworld, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham, far off, and Lazarus by his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in agony in these flames.’
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.The Lord makes a man’s steps secure when he approves of his conduct.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.The Lord is good, an unfailing refuge in a time of distress. He takes care of those who place their trust in him.
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.He said to them, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us.For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver. The Lord is our king; he is the one who will save us.
He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.You will again show us compassion and wash away our guilt; you will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead.
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
