The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who wait for the Lord.So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.
The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver, The heart of the wicked is worth little.The words of the godly are like sterling silver; the heart of a fool is worthless.
The wise of heart will receive commands, But a babbling fool will come to ruin.The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.
The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, To give to each person according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.
Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty, But humility goes before honor.Haughtiness goes before destruction; humility precedes honor.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”
If an army encamps against me, My heart will not fear; If war arises against me, In spite of this I am confident.Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Go then, eat your bread in happiness, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works.So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping, and mourning.”That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.”
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
Every person’s way is right in his own eyes, But the Lord examines the hearts.People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.
Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.
My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart.My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart.
Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.
So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.
Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy.Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace!
Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
My son, do not forget my teaching, But have your heart comply with my commandments; For length of days and years of life And peace they will add to you.My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
