While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. | So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. |
But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” | And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” |

After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. | Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. |
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. | And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him. |
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. | Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. |
The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. | Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. |
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. | For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. |

But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. | But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul. |
‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ | For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ |
As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. | As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. |
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. |

But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” |
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. | That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. |

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” | Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” |
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. | For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. |
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” | Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” |
And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. | And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. |
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. |
But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. | But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. |
