- Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
- If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
- Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”
- Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
- Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
- And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
- We love Him because He first loved us.
- So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
- For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up. - And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
- For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
- Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
- For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
- As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. - Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
- But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
- Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.
A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation. - As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. - That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
- For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
- For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
- Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
- He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all. - For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.
