- Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.

What can mere mortals do to me? - But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. What can mere mortals do to me? - Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. - These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life. - Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him. - But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”

all my inmost being, praise his holy name. - I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
