- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
- When I refused to confess my sin,
my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long. - Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
- Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
- See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.
- Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
- Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor;
only fools insist on quarreling. - I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?
- Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
- Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
- Let all that I am praise the Lord;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. - The Lord is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness. - If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.
- Of all the marine animals, you may eat whatever has both fins and scales. You may not, however, eat marine animals that do not have both fins and scales. They are ceremonially unclean for you.
- This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
- Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
- Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
- Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
- Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness. - For the word of the Lord holds true,
and we can trust everything he does. - Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
- Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you. - It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
- In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles. - I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
