- Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. - I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer,
my God, my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
- I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
- But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
- For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
- Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.
- The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
- This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
- And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you.
- I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live. - Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.
- Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you. - You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor, or you will incur guilt yourself. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- Let all that you do be done in love.
- When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you. - Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- And steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord.
For you repay to all
according to their work.
You shall not murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; Honor your father and mother; also, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
