- Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.
- Let all that you do be done in love.
- While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord guards the city,
the guard keeps watch in vain. - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
- Who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
but emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to the point of death—
even death on a cross. - Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way. - Happy is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways. - The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth. - The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
- And keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.
- Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him. - I treasure your word in my heart,
so that I may not sin against you. - Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and put a new and right spirit within me. - O taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are those who take refuge in him.
