- To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe. - But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
- Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
- And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

he does all that he pleases. - So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,”
and to reflect only after making vows. - Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
- By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
- Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. - And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
- For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
- Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
- But godliness with contentment is great gain.
- For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. - The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
- For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
