- The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. - How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity! - It is a trap to dedicate something rashly
and only later to consider one’s vows. - Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. - Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
- He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
- Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”
- So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
- But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
- And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
- No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
- For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
- What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
- You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
- The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
- Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone,
for they will surely sprout wings
and fly off to the sky like an eagle. - You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
- Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
- When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
- If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple. - The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit. - I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Next verse!With image
