Let your light shine (3/4)

Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
Do all things without complaining or arguments; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding firmly the word of life.Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life.
But let justice roll out like waters, And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living.
“Come now, and let us debate your case,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They shall become as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool.”“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.
Let’s examine and search out our ways, And let’s return to the Lord.Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord.
You, Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me.Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.
So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles. But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart.
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, And the righteous will walk in them, But wrongdoers will stumble in them.Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.
And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”
Watch the path of your feet, And all your ways will be established.Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.
Make me know Your ways, Lord; Teach me Your paths.Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.
Teach me Your way, Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever. But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice; only if you stop exploiting foreigners, orphans, and widows; only if you stop your murdering; and only if you stop harming yourselves by worshiping idols. Then I will let you stay in this land that I gave to your ancestors to keep forever.
Everything that has breath shall praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long. That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long.
So then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
