- Let the word of Christ with all its richness dwell in you. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God with gratitude in your hearts.
- This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - Do not succumb to the love of money, but be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.”
- Come now and let us discuss this,
says the Lord.
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow.
Though they are as red as crimson,
they shall become as white as wool. - Now let the fear of the Lord be upon you. Be careful in your judgments, for the Lord, our God, will not tolerate the perversion of justice, or partiality, or the taking of bribes.
- So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober.
- And God said, “Let us make man in our image and likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the wild animals and reptiles that crawl upon the earth.”
- On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out,
“If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink.” - Everything that you do should be done in love.
- This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us exult and rejoice in it. - Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
- For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be.
- Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - When you fix your gaze upon it,
it is gone before you realize it.
For it suddenly sprouts wings
and flies up to the sky like an eagle. - Every good act of giving and every perfect gift are from above, coming down from the Father of all light. With him there is no alteration or shadow caused by change.
- Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall.
- You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
- Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe.
- And let us consider how to spur one another to love and good works. Do not neglect to attend your assemblies, as some do, but rather encourage one another, especially since you can see the Day approaching.
- Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
- Ensure that the path you tread is level,
and then your ways will be sure. - Let mutual love continue, and do not forget to offer hospitality to strangers, for by doing this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
- Let marriage be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for those who are immoral and adulterers will have to face God’s judgment.
- Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help.
