- For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness. - By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
- For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
- Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life;
he who despises his ways will die. - In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
- And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
- So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
- Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
- But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I set your rules before me. - Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.
- He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” - For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.
- One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple. - Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
- For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
- Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.
- But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
- Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
- Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name. - For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
