Long (2/2)

The reward of humility and fear of the Lord is wealth, honor, and life.True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.
Listen, my son, and take my words to heart, and the years of your life will be multiplied. My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.
He will never be swayed; the righteous man will be remembered forever.Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered.
He who guards his mouth makes his life secure, but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
Our temporary light afflictions are preparing for us an incomparable weight of eternal glory. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
However, those who want riches fall into temptations and are trapped into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
I am pulled in opposite directions. My desire is to depart and to be with Christ, for that is far better, but, it is a more urgent need for you that I remain in the body.I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.
For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that by perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we may continue to have hope.Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness have been yours from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my many transgressions, but remember me in your kindness, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
But now the righteousness of God that is attested by the Law and the Prophets has been manifested apart from law: the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. No distinction has been made. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord. They will be like a tree planted by the water that spreads out its roots to the stream. When the heat comes, it does not fear; its leaves stay green. It is not concerned in a year of drought, and it never fails to bear fruit. But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
