- To you, O God of my fathers,
I offer thanks and praise
because you have given me wisdom and power.

what we asked of you;
you have revealed to us the king’s dream. - Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road.
- Even when you reach old age
I will still be the same.
Even when your hair is gray,
I will still carry you.
I have made you and I will uphold you;
I will carry you and save you. - I have made your name known to them,
and I will make it known,
so that the love with which you loved me
may be in them, and I in them. - You created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am wonderfully made;
awesome are your works,
as I know very well. - No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end.

from where will I receive help?

the Maker of heaven and earth. - Ever since the creation of the world the invisible attributes of God’s eternal power and divine nature have been clearly understood and perceived through the things he has made. Therefore, the conduct of these people is inexcusable.

And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- When things are going well, be grateful for your blessings,
and in times of adversity consider this:
God has made both of them,
so that we cannot predict with confidence
what the future holds. - God blessed the seventh day and he consecrated it, for on it he rested from all the work he had done when he created all things.

to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.

so that my feet have never stumbled. - John’s clothing was made of camel’s hair, with a leather loincloth around his waist, and his food consisted of locusts and wild honey.

but if we love one another,
God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us. - But from the very beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh.’ And so they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.

The Lord made the heavens and the earth and the seas and that which is in them in six days, but he rested the seventh day. Thus, the Lord blessed the Sabbath and declared it to be sacred.
