Made (4/4)

  • Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
    and I did not hide my iniquity;
    I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
    and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
  • And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
  • Riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might; and it is in your hand to make great and to give strength to all.
  • You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.
  • Let it be known to you therefore, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you; by this Jesus everyone who believes is set free from all those sins from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
  • I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.
  • Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
    He was revealed in flesh,
    vindicated in spirit,
    seen by angels,
    proclaimed among Gentiles,
    believed in throughout the world,
    taken up in glory.
  • Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
  • For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
  • But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.
  • Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
  • I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death.
  • For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.
  • Then the Lord God said, “See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
  • Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
    whose trust is the Lord.
    They shall be like a tree planted by water,
    sending out its roots by the stream.
    It shall not fear when heat comes,
    and its leaves shall stay green;
    in the year of drought it is not anxious,
    and it does not cease to bear fruit.
  • “Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
  • Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And just then there appeared a woman with a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and was quite unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your ailment.” When he laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured on the sabbath, kept saying to the crowd, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be cured, and not on the sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to give it water? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the sabbath day?” When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame; and the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things that he was doing.
