- His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’
- Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife,
But wisdom is with those who receive counsel. - Many will be purged, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
- And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.
- For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.
- Teach me Your way, Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name. - For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
- So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
- Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
- May the kindness of the Lord our God be upon us;
And confirm for us the work of our hands;
Yes, confirm the work of our hands. - You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.
- You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
- Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
- The mind of a person plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps. - You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain.
- Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning,
For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to You I lift up my soul. - But I will sacrifice to You
With a voice of thanksgiving.
That which I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation is from the Lord. - As sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.
- Many plans are in a person’s heart,
But the advice of the Lord will stand. - As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to keep many people alive.
- Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.
- A gentle answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger. - For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.
- Therefore let’s not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this: not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s or sister’s way.
- But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.
Behold, as for the impudent one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the righteous one will live by his faith. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.Next verse!With image
