The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding.
It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.
And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.
Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
One Sabbath he was going through the grainfields, and as they made their way, his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. And the Pharisees were saying to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God, in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?” And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination.The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own esteem.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious, But the lips of a fool shall swallow him up.
A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful.
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.
