The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.
Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.Happy are those who find wisdom, and those who get understanding.
It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.It is honorable to refrain from strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.Am I now seeking human approval, or God's approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Pharisees were saying to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God, in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?” And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.Some friends play at friendship but a true friend sticks closer than one's nearest kin.
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.And the Lord God made garments of skins for the man and for his wife, and clothed them.
A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination.The wealth of the rich is their strong city; in their imagination it is like a high wall.

The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.Words spoken by the wise bring them favor, but the lips of fools consume them.
A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before the great.A gift opens doors; it gives access to the great.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers.
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.And steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord. For you repay to all according to their work.
