For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. | For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. |
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. | For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. |

Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. | And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. |
Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! | What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? |
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. | Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. |
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. | For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” | And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. |
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. |
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. | Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. | For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. |
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! | But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. |
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. | For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. |
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. | But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. |
But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. | Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. |
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? | What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? |
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. | Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. |
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. | This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. |
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. | The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. |
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. |
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. | He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. |
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. | Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. |
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. | And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. |
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. | Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. |
Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. | Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. |
If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married. | When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken. |
