- Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.
- Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful. - Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
- For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
- The ransom of a man’s life is his riches,
But the poor does not hear rebuke. - “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.” - Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
- It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy,
And afterward to reconsider his vows. - He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. - He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the Lord. - But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
- Can one walk on hot coals,
And his feet not be seared? - The wicked man does deceptive work,
But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. - For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” - The hand of the diligent will rule,
But the lazy man will be put to forced labor. - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
- Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
- Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
- Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.
- Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon. - A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.
