Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers. | Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. |
Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction. He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. | Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. |
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. | Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. |

Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work. | Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. |
“They shall be mine,” says Yahweh of Armies, “my own possession in the day that I make. I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.” | And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. |
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |
Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. | Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |
With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. | An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. |
Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. | Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. |
But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” | And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. |
If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. | And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. |
Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched? | Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? |
Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. | Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. |
Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord. | Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. |
Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. | And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. |
This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. | Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. |
For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also. | For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. |
Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband. | Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband. |
But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.” | But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. |
Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. | Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. |
Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things. | Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. |
Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. | So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. |
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon. | Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. |
Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him. | Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. |
