- He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
- A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good:
and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. - I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers,
who hast given me wisdom and might,
and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee:
for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter. - To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
- Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:
and with all thy getting get understanding. - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
- Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
- And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing.
- Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
- But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.
- For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
- His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy
