Matthew 11:25 (2/5)

  • It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave.
  • Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
  • And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
  • And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
  • And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
  • And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
  • But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
  • So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
  • Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
  • Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
  • Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
  • His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
  • Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
  • And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  • Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”
  • But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
  • Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
  • Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
  • But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
  • She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
  • All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
