| And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. | And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” |
| And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. | And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.” |

| For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. | For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. |
| Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. | Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. |
| He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. | He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him. |
| Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. | For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature, and likewise the men, too, abandoned natural relations with women and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing shameful acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper. |
| And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. | But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” |
| For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. | For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. |
| Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. | And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved. |
| Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. | If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. |
| For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus. |
| But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. | And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” |

| He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. | He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise from the dead. |
| And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. | Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” |
| Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. | Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased. |
| Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. | Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. |
| Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. | Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. |
| A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. | A person’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great people. |
| If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. | If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people. |
| Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. | Since you are precious in My sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other people in your place and other nations in exchange for your life. |
| For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
| He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. | One who walks with wise people will be wise, But a companion of fools will suffer harm. |
| Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. | Grandchildren are the crown of the old, And the glory of sons is their fathers. |
| But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. |
