Men (2/3)

If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people. If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God does not see as man sees, since man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
One who walks with wise people will be wise, But a companion of fools will suffer harm.Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.
Grandchildren are the crown of the old, And the glory of sons is their fathers.Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their parents.
I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass.I, I am he who comforts you; why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die, a human being who fades like grass?
But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.I tell you, on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter.
While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set Barnabas and Saul apart for Me for the work to which I have called them.”While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets.
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.Pursue peace with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man.
Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of mankind among them are fully given to do evil.Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the human heart is fully set to do evil.
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent. While God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction. But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have performed for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of mankind!O how abundant is your goodness that you have laid up for those who fear you, and accomplished for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of everyone!
Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people. You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.
Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age.For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all, training us to renounce impiety and worldly passions, and in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright, and godly.
So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you.And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you.
The vine has dried up And the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree, All the trees of the field have dried up. Indeed, joy has dried up From the sons of mankind. The vine withers, the fig tree droops. Pomegranate, palm, and apple— all the trees of the field are dried up; surely, joy withers away among the people.

But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
