- In all labor there is profit,
But idle chatter leads only to poverty. - In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me? - I, even I, am He who comforts you.
Who are you that you should be afraid
Of a man who will die,
And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? - The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?” - What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him? - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
- Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
- How they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
- Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

Save me for Your mercies’ sake. - Nevertheless in Your great mercy
You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them;

For You render to each one according to his work. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy. - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. - He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. - Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
But to Your name give glory,

Forever. - Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

And to walk humbly with your God? - But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me.
