- Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
- On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God. - Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. - For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing. - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
- You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
- When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
- Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
- Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth. - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - And you will say in that day:
“Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.” - That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
- Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
- Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. - Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon your arm,
for love is strong as death,
jealousy is fierce as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
the very flame of the Lord. - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
- Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
- He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.Next verse!With image
