He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights. - I look up to the mountains—

My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth! - O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. - Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. - O Israel, my faithless people,
come home to me again,
for I am merciful.
I will not be angry with you forever.
