| But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as law. | But Jesus has now received a ministry that is far superior, for he is the mediator of a far better covenant that has been established on better promises. |
| Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one. | Now an intermediary is not necessary when there is only one party, and God is one. |

| But the free gift isn’t like the trespass. | I will establish my covenant with you: All flesh will not be cut off any more by the waters of the flood. | They will never be hungry or thirsty any more. The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them and leads them to springs of life-giving waters. | Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble. | For in much wisdom is much grief; and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. | For much wisdom can result in much sorrow, and those who increase their knowledge also increase their grief. |
| If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. | If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away.
