The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? | The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? |
In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? | In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? |
|
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” | So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” |
I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass. | I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? |
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. | It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man. |
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? | What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? |
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” | But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” |
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” | But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” |
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” | But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” |
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. | Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. |
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. | Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. |
When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future. | In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, So that man can find out nothing that will come after him. |
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” | But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” |
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” | And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” |
