- Do not be deceived:
“Bad company ruins good morals.” - I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.
- The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. - Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
- I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
- But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.”
- And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one. - Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are.
- Just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
- We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.”
- Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
- Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.
- Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war rise up against me,
yet I will be confident. - Or can one walk on hot coals
without scorching the feet? - Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.
- Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
- Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a ruler. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - Welcome those who are weak in faith, but not for the purpose of quarreling over opinions.
- But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible.”
- The Almighty —we cannot find him;
he is great in power and justice,
and abundant righteousness he will not violate.
A fool despises a parent's instruction,
but the one who heeds admonition is prudent.
