- I have told you these things
so that my joy may be in you
and your joy may be complete. - And when he comes,
he will prove the world wrong
about sin and righteousness and judgment. - So if I, your Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet,
you also should wash one another’s feet. - And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. - If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - Whoever believes in me,
as Scripture has said,
‘Streams of living water
shall flow from within him.’ - This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother. - Through him all things came into existence,
and without him there was nothing.
That which came to be. - For everyone born of God
conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
is our faith. - No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - Jesus replied,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through me.” - God abides in anyone who acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God,
and that person abides in God. - Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can see the kingdom of God
without being born from above.” - When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- I am the gate.
Anyone who enters through me
will be saved.
He will go in and out
and will find pasture. - I am not asking you
to take them out of the world,
but I do ask you
to protect them from the evil one. - Whoever denies the Son
does not have the Father,
but whoever acknowledges the Son
has the Father also. - And the world with all its enticements
is passing away,
but whoever does the will of God
abides forever. - Whoever possesses the Son
possesses life;
whoever does not possess the Son of God
does not possess life. - Beloved,
let us love one another,
because love is from God.
Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - If you abide in me
and my words abide in you,
you may ask for whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you. - No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another,
God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us. - I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - He is himself the sacrifice for our sins—
and not only for our sins
but also for the sins of the whole world.
Jesus said,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love. Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.Next verse! With image
