- Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

- Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins.
- Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

riding on a donkey’s colt. - Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

- A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. - You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord. - I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
- Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
- The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me? - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

By his wounds
you are healed. - One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?” This shamed his enemies, but all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.
- On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
- Let your favor shine on your servant.
In your unfailing love, rescue me. - Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you. - I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.
- Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
- No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.
- So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
- Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.
- You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you! - And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.
- For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
- I am counting on the Lord;
yes, I am counting on him.
I have put my hope in his word. - So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins. - Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven. - Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.”
