- Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.
- How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word. - The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
- Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples! - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in man. - In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
- For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- A man's gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great. - So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
- For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
- Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
- Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
for the remnant of his inheritance?
He does not retain his anger forever,
because he delights in steadfast love. - And you will say in that day:
“Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.” - And a highway shall be there,
and it shall be called the Way of Holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it.
It shall belong to those who walk on the way;
even if they are fools, they shall not go astray. - For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
- Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand.
- The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. - And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
- If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
- Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity! - Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man. - See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
- Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who act faithfully are his delight.
Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind!You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.Next verse!With image
