- Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who act faithfully are his delight. - Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind! - Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.
- But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

- Open your mouth for the mute,
for the rights of all who are destitute. - But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but the companion of fools will suffer harm. - Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
- Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices! - For the customs of the peoples are vanity.
A tree from the forest is cut down
and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman.
They decorate it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so that it cannot move.
Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
and they cannot speak;
they have to be carried,
for they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
for they cannot do evil,
neither is it in them to do good. - My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
- Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
- But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
- So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
- Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.
- “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
- Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.
