- The rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
like an unscalable wall in his own imagination. - A fool has no delight in understanding,
but only in revealing his own opinion. - A fool’s lips come into strife,
and his mouth invites beatings. - The words of a gossip are like dainty morsels:
they go down into a person’s innermost parts. - Yahweh’s name is a strong tower:

He who keeps understanding shall find good. - House and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from Yahweh. - He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die. - There are many plans in a man’s heart,
but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail. - That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness.
A poor man is better than a liar. - It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication,
then later to consider his vows. - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but Yahweh weighs the hearts. - To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice. - He who follows after righteousness and kindness
finds life, righteousness, and honor. - There are those who covet greedily all day long;
but the righteous give and don’t withhold. - A good name is more desirable than great riches,
and loving favor is better than silver and gold. - The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh
is wealth, honor, and life. - Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. - The rich rule over the poor.
The borrower is servant to the lender. - Don’t weary yourself to be rich.
In your wisdom, show restraint. - Why do you set your eyes on that which is not?
For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky. - My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad, even mine. - The father of the righteous has great joy.
Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him. - So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul.
If you have found it, then there will be a reward:
Your hope will not be cut off. - Like a city that is broken down and without walls
is a man whose spirit is without restraint. - Don’t forsake your friend and your father’s friend.
Don’t go to your brother’s house in the day of your disaster.
A neighbor who is near is better than a distant brother. - A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge;
but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. - Iron sharpens iron;
so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance. - Like water reflects a face,
so a man’s heart reflects the man. - He who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer is an abomination. - He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. - A fool vents all of his anger,
but a wise man brings himself under control. - A man’s pride brings him low,
but one of lowly spirit gains honor. - The fear of man proves to be a snare,
but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe. - Every word of God is flawless.
He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - Remove far from me falsehood and lies.
Give me neither poverty nor riches.
Feed me with the food that is needful for me. - Open your mouth for the mute,
in the cause of all who are left desolate. - Open your mouth, judge righteously,
and serve justice to the poor and needy. - Who can find a worthy woman?
For her value is far above rubies. - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain;
but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised. - The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge,
but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. - Turn at my reproof.
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you.
I will make known my words to you. - For Yahweh gives wisdom.
Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. - He lays up sound wisdom for the upright.
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.
