Bible Verses about 'Purpose'

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. The human mind may devise many plans, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.Everyone who commits sin is a child of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. Now I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose.
For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor.
Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. For this purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. For they said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging their own ungodly lusts.” It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions.
May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.May he grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your plans.
Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.Welcome those who are weak in faith, but not for the purpose of quarreling over opinions.
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.I do not nullify the grace of God; for if justification comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing.
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin).
