- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit. - In my distress I called out to the Lord;
he answered by setting me free. - Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail

- The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - Our temporary light afflictions are preparing for us an incomparable weight of eternal glory.
- Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance.
- The Lord God made clothing for the man and woman out of animal skins and he clothed them.
- Remember that you were once a slave in the land of Egypt. The Lord, your God, brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, the Lord, your God, has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
- If you refrain from traveling on the Sabbath
and from engaging in your own interests on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a day of joy
and regard the Lord’s holy day as honorable,
if you honor it by not going your own way,
serving your own interests,
or attending to your own affairs;
then you will find true happiness in the Lord,
and I will enable you to ride
upon the heights of the earth.
I will nourish you with the heritage of your father Jacob,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - O Lord, you have examined me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I stand;
you perceive my thoughts from a distance. - Because the sentence for committing an evil act is not carried out quickly, people’s hearts are prone to act wickedly.
- A fool is quick to show his anger,
but a prudent man ignores an insult. - The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.
