Say (3/4)

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows.It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.
Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart. My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart.
Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.”
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’
