Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1	Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. faith truth hope
And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? Matthew 7:3	Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? sin judgment
So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:18	Because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. eternal life materialism understanding
The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers! Ecclesiastes 5:11	When goods increase, those who eat them increase; and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes? materialism money desires
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. Proverbs 27:12	The clever see danger and hide; but the simple go on, and suffer for it. mind safety protection
Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. Proverbs 31:9	Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. righteousness speaking giving
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 1 John 4:20	Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. love God family
When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. Numbers 15:39	You have the fringe so that, when you see it, you will remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and not follow the lust of your own heart and your own eyes. law obedience desires
Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins. Isaiah 49:15-16	Can a woman forget her nursing child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.) Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living. Amos 5:24	But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. law righteousness
Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign Lord. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live. Ezekiel 18:23	Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live? conversion life death
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Ephesians 5:15-16	Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. wisdom life mind
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. James 2:17	So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. faith life following
Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Philippians 4:5	Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. gentleness nearness
This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’” Jeremiah 6:16	Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, “We will not walk in it.” rest soul goodness
Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the Lord rises to shine on you. Isaiah 60:1	Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. valuable God beauty
But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. John 3:21	But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God. light truth obedience
After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. Acts 1:9	When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. miracles Jesus heaven
And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road. Mark 10:52	Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way. faith salvation healing

The Lord says, “I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that did not call on my name.”

I was ready to be sought out by those who did not ask, to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that did not call on my name.
