- The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
- Therefore, we can say with confidence:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
- For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.
- For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
- For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
- You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
- Can someone hide in a secret place
so that I cannot see him?
Do I not fill heaven and earth? - And we are witnesses to these things, as is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.
- So if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out there. If they say, ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For just as lightning comes from the east and is visible even in the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
- Just as you do not know the path of the wind
or how the body is formed in a woman’s womb,
so you do not know the work of God,
the Creator of all. - So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
- In my Father’s house
there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you? - Behold, he is coming with the clouds;
every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him.
All the peoples of the earth will mourn him.
So shall it be. Amen. - This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant.
- The Lord then said, “Very well. All that he has is in your power. However, you may not lay a hand upon him.” So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
- In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you.
- By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit
and become my disciples. - So shall my word be
that issues forth from my mouth.
It will not return to me unfulfilled,
but it will accomplish my purpose
and achieve what I sent it forth to do. - For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.
- Whatever you ask in my name I will do,
so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. - Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son.
- I have told you these things
so that my joy may be in you
and your joy may be complete.
