- Put on the armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil.
- Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
- In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself.
- Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe.
- They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and so too will your household.”
- However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done in God. - Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may advance on the path to salvation.
- And now, dear children,
abide in him,
so that when he appears
we may have confidence
and not be put to shame by him
at his coming. - For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
- Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - I write these things to you
who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know
that you have eternal life. - When riches increase,
so do those who are eager to accumulate them,
and those who have accumulated them must remain content
simply to feast their eyes on them.
