Speaking (2/4)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.Without counsel, plans go wrong, but with many advisers they succeed.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing personal opinion.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”
A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.A fool's lips bring strife, and a fool's mouth invites a flogging.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. In all toil there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.Anxiety weighs down the human heart, but a good word cheers it up.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.
But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. When they bring you to trial and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say; but say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. It is honorable to refrain from strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.Even before a word is on my tongue, O Lord, you know it completely.
The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the mind of the wicked is of little worth.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.For “Those who desire life and desire to see good days, let them keep their tongues from evil and their lips from speaking deceit; let them turn away from evil and do good; let them seek peace and pursue it.”
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. While I kept silence, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.Lying lips conceal hatred, and whoever utters slander is a fool.
