- And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
- So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.

- Now no one lights a lamp and covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in may see the light.
- Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.
- For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than live in the tents of wickedness. - Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
- Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I get up;
You understand my thought from far away. - Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.
- My soul thirsts for God, for the living God;
When shall I come and appear before God? - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken. - You shall keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the Lord.
- Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.
- He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken. - The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
- Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be firm, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
- Guarding the paths of justice,
And He watches over the way of His godly ones. - The sum of Your word is truth,
And every one of Your righteous judgments is everlasting. - The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous,
And His ears are toward their cry for help. - I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you with My eye upon you. - Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
- No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
- So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
- Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
